Drappier Champagne Carte d’Or Brut 12% vol. in a 0.75 l bottle is the flagship product of the long-established Champagne house Champagne Drappier and embodies the philosophy of the Drappier family, who have been running the estate since 1808. In Urville, in the heart of the renowned Côte des Bar, champagnes with an unmistakable character are produced, placing naturalness, authenticity and terroir at the centre. The Carte d’Or Brut is regarded as the house’s flagship and impressively demonstrates the special significance of Pinot Noir in this region.


The cuvée consists of 80% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay and 5% Meunier, resulting in a champagne that almost possesses the character of a Blanc de Noirs. The grapes are grown on the region’s typical Jurassic limestone and Kimmeridgian soils. Only the first pressings, known as the ‘cuvée’, are used in production. Vinification is carried out particularly gently using gravity, followed by natural clarification and malolactic fermentation. The champagne is neither filtered nor decolourised. Around 40% reserve wines ensure consistency and depth, whilst approximately 5% of the wines are aged in oak barrels. With a low dosage of just 5 g/l, this Brut Champagne is particularly precise, elegant and characterised by its terroir.
