El Ron Prohibido Solera 12 Blended Mexican Rum is an exceptional Mexican rum that develops an impressive complexity and smoothness thanks to its traditional Solera maturation. This premium rum is produced using a historical process that has its origins in colonial times, when Spanish settlers transported rum from the New World to Europe in wine barrels. This method inspired the production of the "Forbidden Rum", which was temporarily banned in Spain due to its exceptional flavour - hence the name El Ron Prohibido (The Forbidden Rum).

Made from caramelised molasses, this rum undergoes a careful Solera ageing process over 12 years in former Spanish sweet wine barrels, which gives it its distinctive sweetness and aromatic depth. The result is a smooth, full-bodied rum with a tantalising combination of sweet, fruity and spicy notes.
