Drappier Champagne Carte d'Or Brut 12% Vol. in a 0.375 l bottle embodies the distinctive style of the long-established Champagne Drappier house, which has been family-owned since 1808. In Urville, at the heart of the Côte des Bar, champagnes are crafted that place authenticity, terroir and craftsmanship at the forefront. The Carte d’Or Brut is regarded as the house’s flagship and reflects the special significance of Pinot Noir, for which the region is renowned worldwide.


The blend consists of 80% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay and 5% Meunier. Due to its exceptionally high proportion of Pinot Noir, this champagne is stylistically almost reminiscent of a Blanc de Noirs and impresses with its expressiveness and aromatic depth. The grapes are grown on calcareous soils containing Jurassic Kimmeridgian limestone and chalk, which lend the wines their characteristic minerality. Only the first pressing is used in production. Vinification is carried out particularly gently using gravity, followed by natural clarification and malolactic fermentation. The champagne is neither filtered nor decolourised. Around 40% reserve wines provide additional complexity and consistency, whilst approximately 5% of the wines are aged in oak barrels. The low dosage of just 5 g/l emphasises the elegant and precise style of this Brut Champagne from France.
