In the picturesque landscape of Riegersburg in Styria, Alois Gölles is the third generation to run the traditional family fruit-growing business. After graduating from the renowned Federal College for Wine and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg, he dedicated himself to refining his parents' harvest of apples, pears, plums and peaches. He began distilling fine brandies in 1979, followed by the founding of his high-quality vinegar factory in 1984. Today, the range includes around twenty fine brandies and just as many types of vinegar, which are regularly recognised.

The "Ron Johan Rum" is characterised by its unique origin: It is distilled in Styria, with the molasses required for production sourced from Brazil, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic. Another striking feature of this rum is the label on the bottle, which depicts the pirate Black Beard and the Austrian Erzherzog Johann. The rum is also dedicated to the latter, which gives it a special cultural and historical dimension.

Ron Johan Dark Rum, distilled from sugar cane molasses from various origins such as Brazil, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic, is characterised by its dark colour, aromatic depth and smoothness. Produced in Styria since 2012, it is matured in a combination of new and used American white oak and ex-bourbon barrels.

This rum is free from any colourings and flavourings, which ensures an authentic and pure taste experience.
