Description
The Hunter Laing Scarabus 10 Years Old Islay Single Malt is a powerful and complex whisky that captures the rugged and wild flavours of Islay. Named after an area of the island whose name "Scarabus" translates as "rocky place", this whisky reflects both the geographical distinctiveness and the history of Islay. The bottle and its motifs were inspired by John Francis Campbell, a Scottish scholar and author, and provide a fascinating insight into the island's tradition.
The Scarabus 10 Years Old is matured for at least 10 years in a combination of refill, ex-bourbon and American virgin oak casks, giving it impressive complexity and depth. The result is an Islay single malt that is characterised by its typical sweet peaty notes and also surprises with an extra portion of complexity. With an alcohol content of 46% vol., this whisky offers a powerful but balanced blend of peat smoke, sweet and spicy flavours.
