The Kilchoman Islay Single Malt Whisky Bourbon/Oloroso Sherry SMALL BATCH 2 is a strictly limited bottling from the independent farm distillery Kilchoman Distillery and is clearly aimed at lovers of powerful Islay whiskies with a strong character. This small-batch edition was deliberately bottled in a small edition of just 1,200 bottles and combines 80% bourbon cask whisky with 20% Oloroso sherry cask single malt. Bottled at 47.1% vol., the whisky remains intense, structured and unadulterated, without chill-filtration or colouring. The intense natural colour comes exclusively from the cask maturation, and all aromatic oils and esters are fully preserved.


Maturation in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks emphasises the typical smoky Kilchoman house style, which is particularly appreciated in Peatheads. The composition of the casks was chosen so that smoke, sweetness, fruit and flavour are in a balanced relationship with one another. The bourbon cask content provides structure and accessibility, while the Oloroso casks contribute depth and complexity. As an Islay single malt whisky small batch, this bottling is positioned between the core range and single cask and offers an independent profile with a clear signature of the distillery.
