Description
Plantation Rums have long since ceased to be an insider tip. The excellent rums are mainly collected in the Caribbean and also in South America and then brought to France, where they are given their finishing touches. In Ars in France, the rum is then stored for several months in small discarded oak cognac barrels. This type of ageing is known as "double ageing", a technique that was already used in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Plantation Rum Trinidad 2008 is produced using molasses and a three-day fermentation process at the Trinidad Distillers Limited distillery.
In Trinidad, this rum matures for 11 years in bourbon barrels, after which it matures for a further 12 months in ex-Cognac barrels made from French oak in the cellars of Château de Bonbonnet/Cognac.
This rum is finished for 1 year in Chardonnay wine barrels.
This very well-known white grape variety has a high quality potential and is widespread worldwide. Traditionally, Chardonnay wines come from Burgundy, but they are also produced in other parts of France, Italy and California. Chardonnay tastes harmonious, fresh and mild.
