This rum is made from molasses and undergoes a three-day fermentation that reflects the typical flavour of the Caribbean. The rum initially matures for four years in bourbon barrels in Barbados, developing a solid base of woody and vanilla flavours. It is then further matured for five and a half years in ex-cognac barrels made from French oak, giving it additional complexity and fruity depth.

The special feature of the 2021 edition is the finish in Oloroso sherry casks for four months, which gives the rum an additional dimension. Oloroso sherry, known for its oxidative maturation, is a full-bodied, strong and dry sherry that gives the rum an intense, spicy and dry sherry flavour.
