It is produced using selected Port wines from the house’s extensive reserves, which have been aged for many years in traditional oak casks with a capacity of around 630 litres. During this long period of cask ageing, the wine develops its characteristic tawny colour as well as the complex aromas that make this style so sought-after. Maturation takes place in the famous Taylor’s Lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, where constant temperatures and optimal conditions ensure a slow development. Compared to the 10 Years Old Tawny, the 20 Years Old Tawny Port displays significantly greater maturity, more intense nutty aromas and even greater aromatic depth. The result is a consummate dessert and sipping wine, ready to serve immediately upon opening and requiring no decanting.
