This rum takes its name from a sailing ship called 'Kirk and Sweeney' which served as a smuggling ship for rum between the Caribbean and the north-east of the USA in the early days of Prohibition.

On the bottle is an imprint of the usual smuggling routes of the ships.

Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, this rum adheres to the very strict regulations to be called "Dominican Rum". The process begins with hand-harvested, high-quality and pure sugar cane. The by-product of the sugar cane, "blackstrap molasses", is then carefully fermented and distilled.

Aged in American and French oak barrels, this is a rum worth pursuing.
