Since its founding in 1879, Barton 1792 Distillery has stood as the oldest operating distillery in the centre of Bardstown, Kentucky, the heart of bourbon production. Set on an impressive 196 acres, it houses 29 warehouses for the careful barrel aging of its bourbon, in addition to 22 other buildings, including an impressive distillery house and the famous Tom Moore Spring. A special feature of this bourbon is its special filtering process, which, unlike usual, does not involve chill filtration. Instead, the bourbon is simply passed through a plate and frame filter.
