Port Charlotte SC:01 2012 is an outstanding Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Whisky that reflects the essence of the island of Islay in every facet. Produced by the renowned Bruichladdich Distillery, this bottling is characterised by its deep roots in local agriculture and its innovative cask maturation. For the first time in the Cask Exploration series, this whisky is made from 100% Islay barley, harvested in 2011 from seven farming partners all located within a 10-mile radius of the distillery.

Distillation took place in 2012, followed by nine years of maturation in carefully selected casks. It was initially stored in first-fill and second-fill American whisky casks and sherry butts before being transferred to Sauternes wine casks at various stages of maturation. This special maturation gives the whisky its exceptional depth and a perfect balance between sweet fruitiness and smoky intensity.

With a phenol content of 40 ppm, this whisky presents itself with a smoky profile typical of Port Charlotte, which is given a fascinating depth by the exceptional cask maturation. This limited edition bottling combines masterful craftsmanship with innovative maturation while remaining true to Port Charlotte's intense, peaty style.
