The Octomore EDITION: 13.3 Super Heavily Peated Islay Barley 2022 61.1% ABV 0.7 l is one of the most impressive bottlings in Bruichladdich’s Octomore Series 13 and epitomises uncompromising quality and the unmistakable character of Islay. Unlike Editions 13.1 and 13.2, the Octomore 13.3 is produced exclusively from Islay barley sourced from Octomore Farm, located just around two miles from the distillery. The Concerto barley, harvested in 2015, was peated to an impressive 129.3 ppm and distilled in 2016. As a single estate, single vintage and single malt, this bottling embodies Bruichladdich’s philosophy of placing origin and terroir at the heart of its whisky. The 0.7 l bottle is aimed at connoisseurs of exceptionally heavily peated Islay whiskies.


The Octomore 13.3 was matured for five years in a combination of first-fill ex-American whisky casks and second-fill European oak wine casks. The European wine casks originate from the renowned wine regions of Rivesaltes in France and Ribera del Duero in Spain, lending the whisky additional depth as well as elegant fruity and spicy notes. The whisky is bottled at a robust 61.1% ABV at cask strength, without chill filtration and without the addition of colouring. Despite its intense peattiness, the Octomore combines powerful smoke with surprising elegance, maritime influences and exceptional balance.
