Description
Giacosa Fratelli Barolo Scarrone Vigna Mandorlo Riserva DOCG 2012 is an impressive, mature Barolo with 14.5% vol. from one of the most prestigious vineyards in Piedmont: the historic Scarrone cru in the Barolo region. The single vineyard Vigna Mandorlo stands for maximum precision and terroir expression and, in combination with traditional ageing, produces a wine that shows depth, nobility and character in perfect form. This wine is produced by the prestigious Giacosa Fratelli winery, which has been known for generations for elegant, long-lasting wines from the heart of Piedmont.
The Barolo is made exclusively from the noble Nebbiolo grape variety, which is famous for its powerful structure, fine acidity and great ageing potential. The wine matures for several years in traditional large wooden barrels, allowing it to develop its harmonious balance of flavour, maturity and mineral freshness. The natural cork stopper emphasises the traditional craftsmanship and ensures quality over the Langs. The 2012 vintage is now at the peak of its drinking maturity and still has ageing potential until around 2025, when it can continue to develop its fine secondary flavours.
