Description
When absinthe was banned in France, the search was on for a substitute spirit based on aniseed. The name "pastis" is therefore a combination of "pastís" (mixture) and "pastiche" (imitation).
The name 12/12 comes from an old expression of the bowlers, each game is played in 13 points, 12/12 corresponds to the match ball for both teams. The top of the bottle represents a bouling ball, which can be removed.
Pastis 12/12 de Saint Tropez is a classic French pastis. Star anise is carefully distilled in a column still. This is followed by the maceration of fresh figs, orange blossom and sweet almonds from the surrounding area, together with various botanicals and spices. Hand-harvested botanicals from the Bay of St Tropez are also added.
The unusual bottle design was created by the artist Quentin Monge from Saint Tropez.
