This method, named after its inventor Eugène Charmat, enables fermentation in pressurised tanks, which gives the sparkling wine a fine bubble and consistent quality.

PetNat, short for Petillant Naturel or Rural Method, is an old and traditional way of producing sparkling wine. In this method, the must is refined into sparkling wine in just one fermentation. During this fermentation, the yeast transforms the existing sugar into carbon dioxide and alcohol. In the controlled Charmat method, the carbon dioxide cannot escape and is elegantly incorporated into the wine.

"PetNat" is characterised by its ability to build up controlled pressure. It is freed from turbidity through filtration and has a clear flavour. As a result, there are no unpleasant surprises with this sparkling wine in terms of flavour, appearance or explosive opening of the bottle.
