The whiskey was first matured in first fill bourbon casks and then aged in Quinta da Boeira port casks from Portugal. These port casks give the single malt a distinct fruity sweetness, fine flavour and a velvety texture. Due to the mild, humid climate of the Irish Atlantic coast, the whiskey matures particularly evenly, allowing the typical flavours of dried fruit, vanilla, toffee and spices to develop harmoniously.
