Description
Founded by visionaries Richard and Bernard d'Offay, Takamaka rum is produced at the Trois-Frères distillery, located in the Plaine Saint-André on the island of Mahé.
The Trois-Frères distillery, which is located on the Saint-André plain on the island of Mahé, began producing its first rums from the Seychelles in 2002. These rums are called "Takamaka" and are named after one of the 23 districts of the island to which they belong.
They are initially matured for three years in new French oak barrels and then refined in a barrel that previously contained white Pineau des Charentes.
This process creates a rich aromatic diversity in which the flavours of the sweet wine emphasise the exoticism of the rum.
