Description
Description
The Francoli family distillery in Ghemme, Italy, has been around since 1875 and is one of the largest and best-known distilleries in Piedmont. It was the first grappa distillery to have no impact on the environment and guarantees a neutral CO2 balance. The heat for the distillation process, for example, is obtained from plant-based fuels. The company has also participated in the "Impatto Zero" project, achieving a protected area of 340,000 square metres in Costa Rica's forests.
Erbaluce is a grape variety that is mainly grown in northern Piedmont. Its grapes are characterised by floral aromas and strong acidity. Erbaluce grappa is produced by steam distillation, without barrel ageing, in order to preserve the original flavours. This grappa has an alcohol content of 41.5 per cent by volume and is a prized spirit of Piedmont.
