The Salzl Sacris Zweigelt Reserve Neusiedlersee DAC 2019 is an impressive single-varietal red wine made from 100% Zweigelt grapes that shows the full potential of this leading Austrian grape variety at the highest level. The vines for the Sacris thrive on loamy sandy soils with a high gravel content, the so-called paratschernosem, a soil composition that gives the wine structure and depth. Vinification is carried out traditionally by maceration in stainless steel tanks at 30 °C with a maceration period of 18 days. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures for 24 months in new oak barrels, which gives it density, elegance and a fine roasted flavour. Sealed with a natural cork and with ageing potential until 2031, the Salzl Sacris Zweigelt Reserve is a powerful, long-lasting DAC red wine from Burgenland that will delight collectors and connoisseurs alike.
