Colorado is undeniably experiencing a resurgence in the whiskey distilling industry. Boulder Spirits, located at the Vapor Distillery in Boulder, Colorado, stands out as the first distillery to openly acknowledge its small size, but more than makes up for it with the largest still in the state.

The use of wine barrels in the maturation of European whiskeys has a long tradition, while this approach is a more recent innovation in American whiskey production. Vapor Distillery, in its quest to create exceptional flavours, has recognised that the integration of deep, dark fruit notes perfectly suits the character of its rich and vibrant single malt whiskey.

The whiskey is first aged for three years in newly charred American oak barrels. It then undergoes an additional nine months of refinement in Ruby Port casks, which give it an extended flavour dimension.
