The Glen Moray Distillery, which has been based in Glen Elgin since the 19th century, produces single malt Scotch whisky in Scotland's most famous whisky region, Speyside. A special variant in their range is the Glen Moray Elgin Classic Peated, a smoky version of the classic Speyside whisky. This whisky combines smoky intensity with the typical smoothness of Speyside whiskies, making it an interesting introduction to the peated whisky category.

In the production process, the barley is first unusually dried in a peat-fired kiln, which gives it a slight smoky flavour. This peated barley is then distilled together with traditionally malted barley, resulting in a spirit with distinct campfire flavours. The subsequent maturation process in American oak casks gives the whisky additional vanilla and oak flavours.
