Description
In 1790, 25-year-old George Sandeman, the son of a wealthy Scottish carpenter, asked his father for a loan of £300. His aim was to set up as a wine merchant in London. George Sandeman then founded the Sandeman company, which later became one of the world's leading suppliers of port and sherry.
From the outset, Sandeman specialised in the production and trade of port and sherry. Unlike today, he did not run his business from his own offices, but from Tom's Coffee House in Birchin Lane in London. At that time, business was often conducted on the basis of a "gentleman's word". George Sandeman quickly gained an excellent reputation, which still characterises the Sandeman company today.
Sandeman Sherry Armada Superior Cream is a high-quality Oloroso sherry. The careful maturation of more than ten years in the old Solera gives it its complexity and roundness. A small amount of full-bodied Pedro Ximénez sherry, made from sun-dried grapes, is added to create a rich and complex combination.
