The Paul Kerschbaum Weingut is one of the leading wineries in Austria. It is located in the Blaufränkisch region of Horitschon in Burgenland. The term "Blaufränkischland" refers to a wine-growing region in central Burgenland, where the Blaufränkisch grape variety is mainly cultivated. Paul Kerschbaum's aim is to produce powerful, long-lasting wines with a woody flavour. In 2011, Paul Kerschbaum placed the production of the wines in the hands of his son Michael.

Paul Kerschbaum Cuvée consists of a balanced blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot. After a 28-day maceration period, the wine matures for 24 months in new wooden barrels to refine its flavours and structure. This is followed by a further 12 months of bottle ageing in the winery. After this careful maturation, the wine is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
