The Salzl Sacris Zweigelt Reserve Neusiedlersee DAC 2020 is an authentic, characterful red wine from Burgenland that combines the best of the Zweigelt variety. Produced by the renowned Salzl Seewinkelhof winery in Illmitz, this wine stands for the uncompromising combination of family tradition, loyalty to the terroir and modern vinification.

The Salzl Sacris is a single-varietal wine made from 100% Zweigelt grapes grown on loamy sandy soils with a high gravel content, known as paratschernosem - soils that are known for their powerful and structured red wines. The wine is vinified in the traditional way: with traditional maceration in stainless steel tanks at 30 °C, a maceration period of 18 days, followed by malolactic fermentation and a long maturation period of 24 months in new oak barrels. Bottled with natural corks and with a storage potential until 2031, the wine is a high-quality DAC Zweigelt that is both youthfully accessible and has excellent ageing potential.
