Description
Grandin, founded in 1886 in the Loire region, stands for high-quality sparkling wine produced using the classic Méthode Traditionnelle. This method, in which the second fermentation takes place in the bottle, ensures a fine perlage, aromatic depth and unrivalled elegance.
Grandin Brut Méthode Traditionnelle, produced in the picturesque Loire region, is an exquisite sparkling wine that masterfully combines the elegance of Chenin, the structure of Cabernet Franc and the finesse of Chardonnay. It embodies the uniqueness of its terroir, which is characterised by calcareous sandstone and tufa limestone soils and an ideal continental climate.
Careful, sustainable methods such as hand-picking and gentle pressing ensure that the flavours and quality of the grapes are fully preserved. The sparkling wine is produced according to the demanding Méthode Traditionnelle. After an initial fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the base wine is produced, which is then combined to create a harmonious blend. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, where the addition of sugar and yeast produces the fine perlage and complex, multi-layered flavours of the sparkling wine. The wine then undergoes remuage, during which the yeast deposits are removed from the bottle neck by daily shaking and tilting of the bottle. Finally, during disgorging, the neck of the bottle is opened, the yeast deposits are removed and the bottle is topped up with the final dosage.
