The Nigl winery stands for the highest quality and combines traditional viticulture with modern expertise. The name "Freiheit" (freedom) refers to the historic vineyard from which the grapes for this wine originate and also symbolises the winemaker's freedom to create authentic and unadulterated wines.
The grapes for this Grüner Veltliner thrive on loess and primary rock soils, which give the wine its characteristic minerality and finesse. The climate in the Krems Valley, characterised by warm days and cool nights, promotes the development of a lively acidity structure and intense aromas. After careful manual harvesting, the grapes are gently processed and fermented at a controlled temperature.
