The Tement Sauvignon Blanc Ried Zieregg Kapelle Südsteiermark DAC 2022 is an impressive Austrian white wine from the renowned Zieregg vineyard, one of the best vineyards in Südsteiermark. It is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes and is classified as a Große STK Lage (GSTK), which makes it a top wine of international calibre. The vines grow on a unique high plateau above the winery, at the foot of the Carmelite Chapel. The soils consist of water-repellent, heavy clay and loam on coral limestone - a remnant of the primeval sea around 16 million years ago.


The approximately 20-year-old vines, around 7,000 plants on an area of 1.48 hectares, benefit from an ideal altitude of 470 metres. All-day sunshine is tempered by the cooling forest mantle, allowing the grapes to ripen more slowly and develop their complex flavours. After natural spontaneous fermentation, the wine matures for 30 months on the fine lees in small, old oak barrels. It is bottled unfiltered and sealed with natural cork. The Tement Zieregg Kapelle has an exceptional ageing potential of over 20 years and is best decanted to fully develop its depth and elegance.
