It is particularly noteworthy that this whisky - like all Coffey bottlings - is not distilled in classic pot stills, but in the rare Coffey stills that Nikka originally imported from Scotland. Although it is considered a malt whisky, it is made exclusively from malted barley and distilled in the Coffey stills, which gives it an unmistakably creamy, round and complex profile.
