The Oban 12 Years Old Heart of the Harbour is a limited special bottling of the Special Releases 2025, which were released under the motto Horizons Unbound. Bottled by Diageo, it impressively demonstrates the maritime character of the Oban distillery, which is geographically located right on the border between the Scottish Highlands and the islands. With a maturation period of 12 years in ex-bourbon casks made from American oak, a whisky has been created that presents the typical signature of the distillery in a particularly inviting, fruity and spicy form.


Its character remains true to the fresh and fruity nature of Oban, but gains additional depth through sweet fruits, spicy accents and maritime notes. On the palate, multi-faceted impressions of toffee, sea salt and citrus unfold, harmoniously intertwining and reflecting the distillery's maritime location in terms of flavour. Bottled at cask strength with 54.7% vol., this whisky impresses with intensity, elegance and a warming depth that will appeal to lovers of stronger bottlings. Packaged in a simple, elegant tube with a minimalist label, the focus is deliberately placed on the whisky itself - a clear contrast to the often colourful designs of other editions.
