The Salzl Blaufränkisch 2023 is a characterful, elegant red wine from Burgenland that bears the signature of the Salzl Seewinkelhof winery to perfection. It is made from 100% pure Blaufränkisch grapes - the grape variety that is considered the flagship of Austrian red wine. The grapes thrive on loess-like Tschernosem soils of sandy loam with a high gravel content, which ensures optimum drainage and mineral depth. This terroir in Seewinkel produces wines that are powerful, precise and elegant at the same time.


Vinification follows the classic method: traditional maceration in steel tanks at 30 °C with a maceration period of 14 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is then matured in stainless steel tanks to preserve its freshness and fruitiness. The result is an Austrian quality wine that shows the unmistakable fruit and flavour of Blaufränkisch in its pure, unadorned form.
