The Dellavalle Grappa Nebbiolo da Barolo Gran Cuvée is one of the characterful cask maturations from the Italian distillery Roberto Dellavalle, which offers a whole range of Piedmontese grappa cuvées. In addition to this Barolo variant, the collection also includes Grappa Moscato Gran Cuvée, Grappa Nebbiolo Gran Cuvée and Grappa Barbera Gran Cuvée, giving the distillery a versatile overview of the most important grape varieties and flavour profiles of Piedmont. For the Barolo Grappa Cuvée, only freshly harvested Nebbiolo pomace from the famous Barolo growing region is distilled. Distillation is carried out in a particularly gentle way in a discontinuous distillation system in a water bath, which ensures that the natural characteristics of the grape variety are fully preserved.

The single-varietal marc spirit is then matured for two years in Slovenian oak barrels before an additional twelve-month finish in barriques. This double barrel maturation gives the Gran Cuvée its golden colour, soft texture and harmonious, mildly spicy character. Bottled at 42% by volume, this grappa displays a balanced combination of typical Barolo flavours - a fine balance of acidity, earthy nuances and delicate fruit sweetness - which are elegantly reflected in the distillate and flatter the palate. The spicy wood notes from the oak barrels round off the flavour and give the grappa its long-lasting, harmonious finish.
