Description
Description
The Winkler-Hermaden Hermada Vulkanland Steiermark 2018 with 13% vol. in a 0.75-litre bottle is a red wine with a strong character from the south-eastern Styrian Vulkanland region, named after the historic Hermada hill in northern Italy. After the heavy fighting in 1917, Field Marshal Lieutenant Arthur Winkler was elevated to the nobility by Kaiser Karl I for his services and henceforth chose the name Winkler von Hermaden. To commemorate this place of destiny, the winery produces a wine that combines a sense of tradition and regional identity.
The cuvée consists of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot and is matured in Kapfenstein oak, creating structure, depth and the finest spicy notes. The volcanic land with its mineral soils lends the wine additional tension and elegance. The 2018 vintage is particularly balanced and powerful: dark fruit, aromatic spice, juicy acidity and precise tannins characterise the profile. Thanks to its combination of origin, historical reference and precision craftsmanship, Hermada presents itself as an expressive, multi-layered red wine with Langs depth.
