The Rey Campero Mezcal CUISHE is an expressive, traditionally produced mezcal from Oaxaca that impressively reflects the diversity of wild agave varieties. This limited edition bottling is made exclusively from around ten-year-old Cuishe agave, a wild variety from the Karwinskii family, which is known for its slender growth habit and particularly mineral flavour profile. Rey Campero stands for artisanal mezcal production in harmony with nature, whereby each agave is carefully selected and processed. The production process follows traditional methods: After harvesting, the agave hearts are roasted in earth ovens, then crushed, naturally fermented and distilled twice.


This Mezcal Joven, produced in February 2021, was bottled without ageing in order to preserve the original character of the Cuishe agave unadulterated. At 49% vol., it is powerful, complex and clearly structured. The combination of intense spiciness, pronounced minerality, fine fruity notes and elegant smokiness makes this bottling an authentic representative of high-quality, artisanal mezcals.
