The Prunotto Barbaresco DOCG 2022 is a style-defining Nebbiolo from Piedmont and epitomises the classic elegance of the Barbaresco region. Prunotto is known for precisely vinified red wines that emphasise origin, structure and ageing potential without losing any of their accessibility. The 2022 vintage shows a clear, straightforward focus and combines the typical Nebbiolo architecture with fine balance, making the wine suitable for both early consumption and ageing. With a recommended ageing period until 2031, this Barbaresco DOCG offers sufficient scope to further develop complexity and depth, while a very harmonious overall composition is already recognisable.


During vinification, the grapes were destemmed and pressed, followed by a maceration of around ten days at up to 28 °C to bring out the extract, tannins and varietal character in a controlled manner. Ageing for 12 months in large and small oak barrels as well as in once-used barriques combines traditional structure with subtle barrel character, before an additional 14 months of bottle ageing further refines the wine. Bottled with natural corks, the result is a characterful, long-lasting red wine from Italy that impresses as Barbaresco 2022 with its clear origin, clean production details and high standards.
