Description
The Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé 2024, 12.5% ABV, in a 0.75-litre bottle, is one of Provence’s best-known rosé wines, combining French winemaking tradition with international renown. Created through a collaboration between the renowned Miraval estate, the Perrin family of winemakers and the former owners Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, this rosé epitomises the highest quality and the unmistakable style of Provence. The vineyards are situated in the idyllic valley of Correns, north of Brignoles, and span the Coteaux Varois en Provence and Côtes de Provence appellations. The unique terroir, comprising clay, limestone and Keuper marl soils, lends the wines their characteristic freshness and minerality.
The 2024 vintage presented the winegrowers with particular challenges. Spring frost, summer hail and a cool, slightly rainy September demanded the utmost attention in the vineyard. However, the slow ripening of the grapes resulted in excellent aromatic expression, lively natural acidity and remarkable freshness. The hand-harvested grapes of the Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Syrah varieties are carefully selected, gently pressed and matured predominantly in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Around ten per cent of the cuvée is also aged in oak barrels with regular bâtonnage, which adds complexity and elegance to the wine. The result is an expressive rosé from Provence that harmoniously combines fruit, minerality and finesse.
