The Erwin Sabathi Sauvignon Blanc Ried Pössnitzberg Südsteiermark DAC 2023 is one of the great single-vineyard wines of Südsteiermark and is a prime example of uncompromising origin, depth and longevity. It comes from the renowned single vineyard Ried Pössnitzberg, whose barren, highly calcareous Opok soil forms the basis for precision, mineral tension and exceptional structure. The multi-award-winning Weingut Erwin Sabathi, which stands for terroir-influenced top wines of international renown, is responsible for this.


The grapes come from steep vineyards, are harvested exclusively by hand and grown organically. Vinification with natural yeasts and 24 months of ageing in large wooden barrels give this Sauvignon Blanc Südsteiermark DAC enormous depth, inner calm and precision without masking the varietal character. With 13% alcohol by volume, the wine is taut, structured and impressively balanced. The planned bottling in September 2025 underlines the claim of this wine as a Grand Cru Sauvignon with a drinking maturity of ten years and well beyond.
