Description
Description
The Platzer Sauvignon Blanc Ried Aunberg Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2025, 13% vol., in a 0.75-litre bottle, is a characterful Austrian white wine from the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC region, which impressively reflects the distinctive characteristics of its origin. The grapes come from the Ried Aunberg, whose vineyards lie at altitudes of 280 to 320 metres above sea level on sun-drenched south-east and south-west facing slopes. The calcareous cultivated soils, composed of fine Tertiary sediments, lend the wine its distinctive minerality and ensure an elegant, multi-layered character.
The Platzer Winery is one of the most renowned estates in Styria’s Vulkanland region and combines regional tradition with precise winemaking techniques. After a 12-hour maceration period, the must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then aged on the fine lees for an extended period, which imparts additional complexity and richness. The 2025 vintage is powerful, precise and, at the same time, elegant. With an alcohol content of 13% vol., a practical screw cap and a ageing potential extending to at least 2030, this Sauvignon Blanc from the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC is an outstanding example of its origin.
