In 1825, John Wray founded his own rum business and was joined by his nephew Charles Werder in 1862 to further expand the company. Their successful collaboration led to the blending of various fine rums. This strategy proved so successful that their descendants were able to purchase the prestigious Appleton Estate outright in 1916. This enabled them to further refine and improve their range.

The Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum is a cask-matured Jamaican rum that is returned to its clear colour after its maturation period through a special filtration process using activated carbon filters. This process ensures the purity and the distinctive, pure flavour of the rum.
