The story of Martell begins as early as 1700, when Jean Martell travelled to Paris to make a cognac from the best eau de vie. After his death in 1753, his wife took over her late Manner's vision and realised it. Rachel Martell ran the company very successfully and the cognac quickly became famous in America and England.
