The cuvée is produced exclusively from the purest grape must, known as the ‘cuvée’, which is regarded as the finest part of the pressing process. A defining feature of Laurent Perrier La Cuvée is its exceptionally high proportion of over 50% Chardonnay, which lends the champagne its fine structure, precision and freshness. The blend is complemented by 30–35% Pinot Noir and 10–15% Meunier. The cuvée brings together wines from more than 100 crus in Champagne and is supplemented by 15–30 per cent reserve wines, which ensure additional depth and consistency. The champagne is then aged for around four years in the house’s cellars, significantly longer than the statutory minimum requirements. The result is a French champagne that delights with its finesse, harmony and aromatic precision, and is equally impressive as an aperitif or a versatile accompaniment to food.
