Description
The company S. Spitz was founded in 1857 by Salomon Spitz in Linz, and in 1935 the production site was moved from Linz to Attnang-Puchheim. The company changed hands after the Second World War and steadily expanded its product range. The distribution of spirits and fruit juices is expanded throughout Austria. In 2007, the company celebrates its 150th anniversary.
The departure of the Spitz Schankrum in 2008 was also the birth of the Spitz Doppelschankrum - the original times two. At 45 per cent by volume, Spitz Doppelschankrum not only has twice the alcohol content, but also twice the flavour.
The term "Doppelschankrum" refers to a double-distilled rum, which means that the rum undergoes two distillation processes to achieve a refined and smooth character. This process removes impurities and produces a more concentrated and flavourful spirit. "Inländer Rum" is a term used for domestically produced rum in Austria. It distinguishes Austrian rums from imported rums from other countries.
