Description
Description
Lillet Rouge is a full-bodied, intensely aromatic aperitif wine from south-west France, specifically from the small village of Podensac near Bordeaux. With an alcohol content of 17 % vol., it is the deep-red counterpart to the well-known Lillet Blanc – more powerful in character, yet equally finely balanced and elegant. Lillet Rouge is produced from a carefully selected blend of red Bordeaux wines – predominantly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon – which are enriched with fruit macerates from oranges, exotic fruits and selected herbs. A hint of cinchona bark lends the aperitif its subtle bitter note.
It is aged for several months in small oak barrels, which gives Lillet Rouge its smooth texture and the harmonious blend of fruit, spice and structure. For over a century, Lillet has been the epitome of French aperitif culture – sensual, elegant and with an unmistakable character.
