Description
Description
Developed by Robert Riemerschmid in 1835, Escorial Grün is based on numerous herb and spice distillates.
With its high alcohol content, it was a popular liqueur in the 1970s, comparable to Chartreuse Verte in terms of flavour.
As it is said to have rendered women insensible after one glass, it was no longer served in some pubs.
It is made from various spices and herbs, has a strong woodruff aroma and is given a rich, green colour by the addition of colouring agents.
Escorial Green is often used in fine dining, as it is perfect for flambéing pan-fried dishes and desserts.
