This unique aperitif was originally created in 1870 at Antonio Carpano’s bar in Turin and has had a remarkable history ever since. The curious story of its origins begins when a banker ordered a special aperitif during his lunch break. In his hectic working environment, he spontaneously exclaimed ‘Punt E Mes’, which means ‘one and a half stock market points’ in Piedmontese. As this bespoke aperitif tasted so superb, it gave rise to a new brand that is now considered a classic amongst Italian aperitifs.

Today, Punt E Mes is produced using a blend of the finest Italian wines and 50 different herbs and spices, which give it its distinctive and balanced bitterness. The aperitif is characterised by its complex flavours, which combine both sweet and bitter notes. Punt E Mes is an ideal choice for an aperitif, but can also be used as a base for various cocktails.
