Description
Rémy Martin 1738 ACCORD ROYAL is a premium Fine Champagne cognac with an alcohol content of 40 per cent, presented in a 0.7-litre bottle with a gift box. It is blended from carefully selected eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne regions. For a cognac to bear the designation ‘Fine Champagne’, only eaux-de-vie from these two crus may be used, with at least 50 per cent originating from the Grande Champagne. Before blending, the distillates are aged in toasted French Limousin oak casks. The deliberate influence of the wood lends the cuvée additional depth and contributes significantly to its full-bodied, harmonious character.
The name 1738 Accord Royal commemorates a significant moment in Rémy Martin’s history. In 1738, König Ludwig XV granted the House, by royal decree, exceptional permission to plant new vines. This privilege was remarkable at the time, as agricultural land was primarily reserved for food production and the expansion of vineyards was strictly regulated. With the 1738 Accord Royal, Rémy Martin commemorates this historic event and links it to the traditional production of Fine Champagne Cognac. The combination of selected crus, French Limousin oak and the House’s time-honoured craftsmanship makes this bottling a distinctive addition to the Rémy Martin portfolio.
