The Highland Park Distillery was founded in 1798 and is one of Scotland’s oldest and most renowned whisky distilleries. It is situated in Kirkwall on the island of Mainland in Orkney, making it Scotland’s northernmost distillery. Surrounded by rugged countryside and stormy seas, Highland Park whisky reflects the unique climatic conditions of the Orkney Islands. Today, the distillery is part of The Edrington Group and produces around 2.5 million litres of whisky annually.

Long winters, summer frosts and fierce winds make life on the Orkney Islands challenging, but provide ideal conditions for the production and maturation of exceptional whiskies. To celebrate this unique climate and as a tribute to Niflheim, the Old Norse world of ice, frost and mist, the Highland Park 17 Years Old Ice Edition was created.

Matured in ex-bourbon casks, this special edition delights with aromas of fresh pineapple and ripe mangoes, perfectly balanced by spicy smoke and ginger root. With an alcohol content of 53.9%, this limited edition was released in spring 2016 and is a highlight for lovers of full-bodied, complex whiskies.
