Hennessy Very Special Cognac, or Hennessy V.S for short, is an internationally renowned French cognac with an alcohol content of 40 per cent, available in a compact 0.05-litre bottle. As one of the best-known expressions from the long-established Maison Hennessy, the V.S embodies the house’s characteristic style in a particularly handy miniature format. Its blend is created by marrying around 40 carefully selected eaux-de-vie. The individual distillates are aged in French oak casks before being blended by the Hennessy blenders to create a harmonious cuvée. The brand has a long history: Richard Hennessy founded Maison Hennessy in Cognac in 1765, thereby laying the foundations for one of the world’s most renowned cognac houses.


The designation ‘Very Special’ denotes the youngest age category within the classic Cognac classification, although for Hennessy, the careful selection and blending of the various eaux-de-vie is of particular importance. The Hennessy V.S 0.05 l combines the house’s time-honoured cognac-making tradition with a small-format bottle, which is particularly well-suited for those new to the brand, for tastings or as part of a spirits collection. Despite the compact 50 ml bottle, this bottling offers the classic character of the standard Hennessy Very Special, with its blend of fruit, oak and spicy notes.
