The Bunnahabhain Cruach-Mhòna Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 50% Vol. 1 l + GB is a special bottling from the renowned Bunnahabhain Distillery, which is situated in the north of the island of Islay and has been producing whiskies of the highest quality since 1881. Whilst the distillery is traditionally known for its rather mild, unpeated malts, the Cruach-Mhòna reveals a completely different side: here, the strong peaty smoke typical of Islay comes to the fore in impressive fashion.


The name ‘Cruach-Mhòna’ means ‘peat heap’ in Gaelic – a reference to the intensely smoky character of this whisky. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, allowing it to develop a harmonious balance between smoke, vanilla, sweet malt and maritime notes. Bottled at 50% ABV, it is undiluted, uncoloured and non-chill-filtered, ensuring it retains its natural range of flavours. The combination of cask maturation and high alcohol content makes it an intense yet well-balanced Islay single malt.
