This bottling is named after the HMS Princessa, one of the ships which, under the command of Admiral Rodney, contributed to the victory over the French fleet during the famous Battle of Les Saintes in 1782. From Pigeon Island in Saint Lucia, Admiral Rodney observed the movements of the enemy ships and, through his tactical masterstroke, initiated one of the most significant naval battles in Caribbean history. Admiral Rodney Princess is distilled in the distillery’s Coffey Column Stills on plates 30 and 32, and is then matured for 5 to 7 years in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and ex-Ruby Port casks. This carefully balanced cask maturation lends the rum its exceptional depth and elegance, as well as a harmonious balance of fruit, sweetness and subtle woody notes. At 40% ABV, this rum from Saint Lucia is smooth, well-balanced and full-bodied. Its deep, dark mahogany colour is enhanced by colouring.
